Mission Statement, Core Values and Statement of Principles

Loanends Primary School has regard for the UNCRC.  Article 29 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) underlines our school vision.

“Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full.  It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures and the environment.” (goals of education, Article 29) 

Mission Statement:

“We actively strive to provide a caring and safe learning environment, where every child matters and is respected.  Our passion is to nurture and empower our pupils to achieve their true potential, with the support of a highly dedicated and professional staff team.”

Statement of Principles

The Staff and Governors of Loanends Primary School believe that:

  • The core values are the basis upon which we promote and encourage positive behaviour from all members of the school community.
  • Positive Behaviour will be celebrated, and sanctions applies appropriately for all unacceptable behaviours in the interests of safety, respect and well-being of the whole school community. (UNCRC Articles 13, 19 and 24) (Safe) (Respect)
  • All staff and pupils have the right to high quality teaching and learning, which is part of a lifelong process.  We will strive to ensure that standards of behaviour are such that this can be achieved. (UNCRC Articles 6 and 28) (Safe, Inclusive, Dedicated, Achieving)
